Evangeline Ching is a Doctoral Student in Music Education at the Royal College of Music (RCM), a RCM Studentship Holder, and a Lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) within the University of the Arts Singapore. Her research focuses on feedback cultures, signature pedagogies, and how these support learners' feedback literacy in music conservatoires. She also explores formative feedback, learner motivation, and self-regulated learning within this context.
Evangeline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano from NAFA and a Master of Education in Music (distinction) from the RCM. Her Master’s research examined formative feedback in one-to-one piano teaching and its link to student motivation and practice habits. She currently teaches in NAFA’s Diplomas in Music and Music Teaching, as well as the Bachelor of Education programs.
Her doctoral research is supervised by Dr. George Waddell and Dr. Mary Stakelum at the RCM. She is affiliated with the RCM’s Research department and contributes to initiatives like RCM Sparks, which engages schools and local communities in music education.
