معرفی
Evan Williams is an Associate Professor and Chief Scientist at the University of Luxembourg's Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), leading the Gene Expression and Metabolism group. He specializes in systems biology approaches to study aging-related diseases and molecular interactions in complex biological systems. His research integrates multi-omic data (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to model how genetic and environmental factors influence health across organs and over time.
Educated at Rice University (B.S. Bioengineering) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (PhD Bioengineering), Williams has held roles including Senior Research Scientist at ETH Zürich (2016–2020) and a Ruth Kirschstein F32 fellowship recipient (2016–2019). He currently leads interdisciplinary projects, including an INTER-FNR grant with TU Munich and Stanford (2024) and collaborates with Glacies Biome, a startup awarded Luxembourg's Fit4Start competition.
His research focuses on genetic and dietary modulators of metabolism, inflammatory responses, and lifespan. Key areas include systems genetics in murine models (BXD population), mitochondrial dynamics, and biomarker discovery for diseases like metabolic syndrome and neurodegeneration. He has published 47 papers and maintains an h-index of 31, with work featured on ORCiD and ORBilu.
- Key Awards: Ruth Kirschstein F32 Fellowship (2016–2019), Fit4Start Competition Award (2024)
- Grants: INTER-FNR Collaboration Grant (2024), Swiss National Science Foundation (prior roles)
Williams' lab develops computational frameworks (e.g., PCfun, SECAT) and collaborates globally to advance precision medicine tools. He prioritizes translational research, bridging basic science and clinical applications through multi-omic profiling and systems-level analysis.
