Evan Watts is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Ferris State University’s College of Arts, Sciences and Education. His academic work explores intersections between digital media, video game research, and communication theory.

Watts’ research focuses on audience engagement with digital content, including moral psychology in media, face negotiation theory in online education, and the role of video games in civic engagement. His recent work examines game streaming dynamics, player-instructor interactions in virtual classrooms, and fandom behaviors influenced by gender and national identity cues.
