Evan Marie Lowder

Evan Marie Lowder is an Associate Professor of Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University, directing the Early Justice Strategies lab. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on reducing offending and improving behavioral health outcomes for justice-involved adults, emphasizing pretrial reform, mental health diversion programs, and opioid-related interventions. She has received federal, state, and local funding for projects evaluating early justice interventions.

Current projects involve analyzing probation revocation pathways and pretrial decision-making matrices. She supervises doctoral research on supervision strategies for individuals with substance use disorders.
