Eric Grommon is the Paul H. O'Neill Professor at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University Indianapolis. He joined in 2012 and was honored with the O’Neill Professor title in 2023 for his contributions to criminal justice. His research focuses on corrections, offender reentry, program evaluation, and justice system operations. He collaborates with practitioners to study risk assessment tools, crisis response strategies, probation revocations, and nonprofit impacts on gun violence.
- Education: Ph.D. (2010), M.S. (2005), B.A. (2002) in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and Lewis University.
His work explores policy-relevant topics such as sex offender residence restrictions, pretrial supervision, and strategic firearm violence interventions. Notable awards include the Indiana University Trustees’ Teaching Award (2017) and the SPEA Favorite Criminal Justice Professor award (2016).
