Evan J Andrews

Evan J. Andrews is a Research Fellow at Memorial University’s Department of Geography, affiliated with the Ocean Frontier Institute. His work focuses on fisheries futures, anticipatory governance, and transdisciplinary sustainability science.

His work addresses social dynamics, policy alignment, and institutional constraints in marine systems, often using case studies and stakeholder workshops.

Andrews’ publications span marine policy, ecosystem-based management, human dignity in environmental contexts, and small-scale fisheries. He emphasizes collaborative governance, capacity building, and justice in fisheries policy, with a focus on Canada and global perspectives. His research contributes to Ocean Frontier Institute’s Module I, Phase 3, and engages with social network analysis and transdisciplinary practices.

He is supervised by Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee at Memorial University and previously worked with Dr. Derek Armitage (University of Waterloo) and Dr. Toddi Steelman (University of Saskatchewan).
