Evan Calder Williams is an Associate Professor at the Center for Curatorial Studies (CCS), Bard College, where he teaches Theory and Criticism in Contemporary Art, graduate seminars, and Disability Studies courses. His research bridges cultural theory, political philosophy, and artistic practice. He holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and conducted Fulbright-funded research in Italy.

His work interrogates apocalyptic thought, queer politics, and radical critiques of modernity. Recent publications include Combined and Uneven Apocalypse and Shard Cinema, with forthcoming books on sabotage and sickness. His writing appears in Frieze, Cultural Politics, and Viewpoint Magazine, where he serves on the editorial board.
He collaborates with the film collective 13BC and co-translated Mario Mieli’s Towards a Gay Communism. His films have been exhibited globally at institutions like MoMA and Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
