Evan Ashworth

Evan Ashworth is a Part-Time Lecturer III in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of New Mexico (UNM), serving as MA Director. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Linguistics from UNM (2013), with a focus on language ideologies and endangered language documentation. He has held roles as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia and director of the writing and language tutoring program at UNM's Center for Academic Program Support.

Research interests center on language preservation strategies, particularly regarding the Tewa language of northern New Mexico, and innovative pedagogical approaches like service learning and flipped classrooms.
