Eva Spieck is a Privatdozent (PD) and Research Group Leader in Microbiology & Biotechnology at the University of Hamburg's Department of Biology within the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences. She is based at the Institute of Plant Sciences and Microbiology, where she leads research on nitrifying bacteria and their ecological roles across diverse environments.
