معرفی
Eva Iris Otto is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen, where she conducts research at the Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science (SODAS). Her work bridges anthropology, sociology, and data science to examine the relationship between technological development and social values.
Her research interests focus on datafication and digitization processes, particularly examining software development across different market sectors. Key themes include platforms, infrastructural power and dependency, attention economies, values in markets, and professional ethics. She employs long-term ethnographic fieldwork within digital companies and develops innovative online-offline research methods.
Her recent publications reveal an interdisciplinary trajectory spanning digital economics, software development practices, and healthcare sociology. Her work shows consistent focus on how digital technologies reshape social relations and economic structures, with particular attention to valuation practices in digital markets and infrastructural dependencies.
Currently, she is working on new perspectives on attention from an anthropological perspective and leading a project on software and data infrastructures within the financial sector as part of the 'Datafied Living' initiative under Professor Stine Lomborg.
Her research methodology combines ethnographic approaches with interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with data science researchers, to develop comprehensive understandings of digital phenomena.
