معرفی
Eva Hesping is a Senior Research Fellow in Virology at Flinders University's Health and Medical Research Building (HMRB) within the College of Medicine and Public Health. She has 8 years of experience in infectious disease research, focusing on malaria and dengue virus, and has held prior roles at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research (WEHI) in Melbourne, Australia.
- Doctor of Philosophy (Microbiology), Griffith University, 2017-2021
- Master of Science (Biochemistry), Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, 2014-2017
- Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry), Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, 2011-2014
Her research spans malaria drug discovery, protein export in Plasmodium parasites, and dengue virus inhibitor mechanisms. She employs advanced techniques such as whole-genome CRISPR screening, computational studies, and medium-throughput screenings to explore host-pathogen interactions and translational applications.
Recent publications highlight her work on malaria liver stage development in humanized mice, CRISPR-based gene interaction studies, and cross-reactive inhibitors targeting Plasmodium parasites. These contributions reflect her focus on genetic, molecular, and pharmacological approaches to infectious diseases.
Eva actively participates in academic leadership, including roles as WEHI Postdoctoral Association President (2024), Founding Member of Melbourne Emerging Leaders in Biomedical Research (2023-2024), and Seminar Organizer in WEHI's Infection and Immunity division. She also contributes to lab and institutional culture initiatives.
