معرفی
Dr Eva Hellmann is a Research Associate at the Department of Geography, University of Cambridge. She collaborates with Prof Andrew Friend on research exploring tree growth responses to environmental changes and carbon sequestration. Her work bridges plant genetics, climate science, and environmental biology.
Education:
- 2007: Diploma in Biology from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
- 2013: PhD at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
- 2018: Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK
Research focuses on climate-growth relationships in trees, particularly how CO2 levels, temperature, and water availability impact growth and carbon sequestration. She co-develops models to predict tree carbon sequestration under climate change. Key projects include 'Beyond photosynthesis: overturning source-centric plant growth paradigms.'
Publications span cytokinin signaling, auxin regulation, and vascular tissue development, with recent work emphasizing tree growth dynamics in changing climates.
Awards:
- Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK (2018)
Teaching includes supervisions in Plant Science and a course on the 'Short History of Plants.' Current affiliations include the Department of Geography and collaboration with The Sainsbury Laboratory.
