Eva Helene Odzuck

Prof. Dr. Eva Helene Odzuck is a Professor and Chairholder of Political Philosophy, Theory, and History of Ideas at the University of Regensburg. She previously held acting professorships at the University of Regensburg and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Her research focuses on democratic and political theoretical analysis of emerging technologies (biotechnology, digital tech), historical studies of political liberalism (Hobbes, Rawls), and ancient political philosophy (Plato). She has held visiting research positions, including at UC Berkeley (2015–2016).

She is actively involved in interdisciplinary initiatives like the 'Digital Sovereignty' Emerging Fields Initiative and serves on editorial boards including Yearbook of Political Thought and the German Society for the Study of Political Thought (DGEPD). Her awards include the FAU Habilitation Prize (2022) and the Essay Prize from the Jakob Fugger Center (2023).

Key roles: Managing Director of the Institute of Political Science at UR, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts, History and Social Sciences, and co-director of the Bavarian Doctoral College for Political Theory.
