Eva Annette Rehfuess

Professor Eva Annette Rehfuess is Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research at the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry and Epidemiology (IBE) within the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She also holds an Adjunct Professor position at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward developing methodological frameworks for evidence-based public health in complex systems, with emphasis on pandemic response measures, adaptation of interventions to new contexts, and evidence-to-decision frameworks. Her work spans multiple disciplines including epidemiology, health services research, implementation science, and environmental health.

Professor Rehfuess actively advises doctoral students and has secured funding for numerous research projects including FoodSAMSA, Munich Science Communication Lab, Evaluation of the Freiham Prevention Chain, and several Network University Medicine projects. Her collaborative work extends across multiple institutions and international partnerships, particularly in global health initiatives.

She leads the Evidence-Based Public Health research group within IBE and is involved with the Digital Public Health Skills Lab. Her team focuses on methodological development for evidence-based public health in complex systems, with applications across various public health domains including pandemic response, nutrition policy, and environmental health.
