Rebecca Brambilla is a Research Associate at the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry and Epidemiology (IBE) and the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She is also a medical research doctoral student in Epidemiology and Public Health at IBE. Her work focuses on public health, gender-based violence, and social theories of violence perpetration.
- Education: MSc in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, 2021), MSc in International Development (University of Edinburgh, 2018), BA in Political Science and Sociology (LMU Munich, 2016).
Her research examines the intersection of social norms, economic factors, and psychological stress in driving intimate partner violence perpetration in Tanzania. She has published extensively in journals like BMC Public Health and Social Science & Medicine.
Recent publications analyze topics including non-partner sexual violence, gambling as a risk factor for violence, and sociological/economic theories of violence perpetration. These studies employ cross-sectional methods and systematic reviews to address structural drivers of violence in low-income settings.
