University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centerمعرفی
Eunsook S. Jin is an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Imaging Research Center and Internal Medicine department of UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her research focuses on intermediary metabolism in vivo, utilizing stable isotopes and NMR analysis to investigate metabolic pathways in the liver, skeletal muscles, and heart. She also recruits human subjects to study metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Dr. Jin’s research interests include hepatic insulin resistance, oxidative stress, glucose-fat interactions, and the role of the pentose phosphate pathway in metabolic regulation. She is particularly interested in the asymmetry of 13C labeling in blood glucose to assess hepatic oxidative stress and transaldolase activity.
Her publications highlight the use of NMR spectroscopy and isotopic tracing to dissect metabolic fluxes in conditions like diabetes, obesity, and mitochondrial dysfunction. Key themes include hepatic glucose overproduction, pyruvate metabolism in cancer cells, and the impact of dietary interventions on metabolic pathways.
Dr. Jin collaborates with researchers at the Advanced Imaging Research Center and contributes to understanding metabolic diseases through interdisciplinary approaches combining biochemistry, physiology, and clinical research.
