Eunsook Rhee serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of English within Temple University's College of Liberal Arts. She is a core faculty member in the First Year Writing Program, specializing in English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction and curriculum development for diverse student populations.
Her research examines how linguistic and cultural diversity strengthens ESL writing pedagogy, emphasizing identity negotiation in academic settings and cross-disciplinary writing expectations. Rhee investigates textual borrowing practices among non-native speakers and advocates for leveraging students' backgrounds as assets in mastering academic discourse norms through collaborative learning frameworks.
Her scholarly output focuses on identity dynamics in TESOL education and cultural dimensions of academic writing, contributing to applied linguistics and composition studies. This work reveals how multilingual students navigate disciplinary expectations while developing critical thinking skills in higher education contexts.
