Rachel Liberatore is the Director of the Albright College Writing Center since 2009, holding a dual role as an instructor for first-year writing courses (ENG 101/102) and the Foundations of Environmental and Nature Literature seminar. She earned a M.A. in English and TESOL from the University of New Mexico alongside a B.A. in English and Elementary Education from Grinnell College.
Her work focuses on tutor development, expanding peer tutoring into reading and academic technology support, and adapting tutoring modalities for online environments. Key areas of expertise include first-year composition pedagogy, writing center administration, and culturally responsive teaching strategies for ESL students.
Her scholarly contributions include presentations at regional/national conferences such as the International Writing Center Association and College Reading and Learning Association, addressing topics like tutor creative identity formation, inclusive recruitment practices, and strategies for motivating student readers. She has collaborated extensively with peer tutors on presenting co-authored work at conferences since 2010.
