Eunjin (Anna) Kim is an Associate Professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She specializes in quantitative advertising research, focusing on storytelling in advertising, brand communication, and digital media. Her work examines the impact of social media influencers, virtual influencers, and AI-driven platforms on branding and audience engagement.
Kim holds a PhD from the University of Missouri School of Journalism (with a minor in psychological statistics). Prior to USC, she was an Assistant Professor at Southern Methodist University, where she won teaching awards including the Classroom Innovator Award (2017) and the Teaching and Learning Innovator Award (2016). She teaches courses like Strategic Public Relations Research and Media Analytics.
Her research appears in top journals such as the Journal of Advertising, International Journal of Advertising, and Health Communication. She serves as senior associate editor for the International Journal of Advertising and associate editor for the Journal of Interactive Advertising.
Key research areas include narrative persuasion, virtual influencers' effectiveness, and green advertising credibility. Her awards include the Mary Alice Shaver Promising Professor Award (2019) and multiple best reviewer recognitions (2023–2024).
