Eun-Jeong Lee is a Professor and core faculty member in the Division of Counseling and Rehabilitation Science at Illinois Institute of Technology's Lewis College of Science and Letters. She teaches graduate-level courses in multicultural counseling, psychosocial adaptation to disability, and rehabilitation engineering. Her roles include supervising master's practicums and internships. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2007), with prior work as a psychologist in Korea and clinical experience in neuropsychology.
Her research focuses on psychosocial adaptation to disability, including co-existing mental health issues, positive psychology for chronic illness/disability (CID) populations, caregiver support, multicultural help-seeking behaviors, vocational rehabilitation, and research methodology. She has served on editorial boards and professional organizations like APA Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology).
Lee's recent work addresses workplace microaggressions against people with disabilities, cultural competence in caregiving, and Asian American service utilization patterns. She leads projects on family-centered decision-making for diabetes patients and employment-related social skills training for autistic youth. Current grants include studies on technology career development interventions for Black/African American students with disabilities.
Her research emphasizes culturally responsive approaches to disability, integrating resilience frameworks and stigma reduction. She collaborates internationally, publishing in Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, Psychiatric Services, and Journal of Community Mental Health. Lee's lab focuses on advancing rehabilitation practices through evidence-based interventions.
