Euiyoung Kim

Dr. Euiyoung Kim is an Assistant Professor of Design for Dynamic Stability in the Department of Design, Organisation and Strategy at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). He is also the Co-director of the Automated Mobility Lab and leads research in future mobility, human-centered design, and design for cybersecurity. Prior to joining TU Delft, he was a lecturer and postdoctoral researcher at the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, UC Berkeley, where he also served as Research Director of the Berkeley Research for Autonomous Vehicle Opportunities (BRAVO).

Dr. Kim’s research centers on future mobility, user-centered roadmapping, design thinking, product development, and design for cybersecurity. His work bridges engineering design with organizational strategy and human behavior. He investigates how emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles and generative AI can be designed to align with user needs and organizational realities.

His recent publications focus on human-AI interaction in vehicles, organizational adoption of automation, and strategic design under global economic shifts. These works reflect a strong trend toward human-centered automation, resilient design strategies, and ethical integration of AI in complex systems. His research often involves interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world case studies in aviation and automotive sectors.

He teaches courses such as Reimagining Mobility and mentors students in design innovation. He is also actively involved in professional service, including serving on the committee of the Korean Society of Design Science (2024–2025).

He leads and contributes to research initiatives in mobility, accelerating innovation, and the Automated Mobility Lab, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to develop accessible, sustainable, and user-sensitive transportation systems.
