Eugenie van Heijgen is a Researcher at the Department of Forest and Nature Conservation Policy at Wageningen University. She completed her PhD in 2025 with a thesis titled Hunting landscapes: a multispecies approach. Her work bridges environmental policy, cultural history, and political ecology, focusing on hunting’s biopolitical and ecological dimensions. She has published on topics like red deer management, duck decoy systems, and the historical role of hunting domains in the Netherlands.
Research interests include wildlife management, biopolitics, and the cultural history of landscapes.
