Eugene Yin-Min Chang

Eugene Yin-Min Chang, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), affiliated with the College of Medicine. He specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, with a focus on fetal complications during pregnancy, growth abnormalities, and cerebral palsy prevention. Dr. Chang joined MUSC in 2005 and has pioneered research on fetal neuroprotection and intrauterine growth restriction. He co-founded MUSC Health's Advanced Fetal Care Center with pediatric cardiologist Dr. Sinai Zyblewski to address complex pregnancies requiring multidisciplinary care.

Education: Undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University (1994), and residency/fellowship training at MUSC (completed 1995–2005). Certifications include Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Research interests span hypertensive disorders, preterm birth mechanisms, thrombophilia, and innovative ultrasound techniques. He integrates clinical practice with medical education, particularly in simulation-based obstetrics training.
