Dr. Eugene Miakinkov is a Senior Lecturer in History at Swansea University's School of Culture and Communication. Specializing in Russian history within a broader European context, his research examines war as a cultural practice, militarization of society, and the evolution of information states. He has published extensively on topics ranging from Catherine II's military culture to modern Russian militarism under Putin.
- Research Focus: Russian history, war and society, Enlightenment studies, information history, and 18th-century European history.
- Current Projects: Investigating Russia's 'information state' development and the militarization of Russian culture under Vladimir Putin.
