معرفی
Professor Euan Hendry is affiliated with the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Exeter. His research focuses on the interaction between light and matter, with a particular emphasis on terahertz (THz) imaging and nonlinear optics in graphene-based materials.
- 1997-2001: MSci in Chemical Physics, University of Glasgow
- 2001-2005: PhD in Ultrafast Spectroscopy, University of Amsterdam
His THz imaging work addresses challenges in developing efficient components and sensors for the underexplored THz region of the electromagnetic spectrum, enabling real-time imaging and sub-wavelength resolution. In nonlinear optics, he investigates replacing conventional metals with 2D materials like graphene to overcome ohmic losses and enable nanoscale light manipulation. These themes intersect with photonics, ultrafast spectroscopy, and nanotechnology.
Hendry has led numerous funded projects as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigator (CI), including EPSRC grants for semiconductor plasmons and graphene-based devices. He is a member of the Institute of Physics and contributes to academic communities through organizing committees, external examining, and peer review.
