Etienne Benson is an Adjunct Professor at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Department of Knowledge Systems and Collective Life, and currently serves as Director and Scientific Member of the Max Planck Society. He holds a PhD from MIT and previously served as Associate Professor at the Department of History and Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on environmental sciences, environmentalism, and human-animal relationships in the 19th and 20th centuries.
