Esther I. Bernhofer

Esther I. Bernhofer holds dual faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University:

• Associate Professor of Nursing in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing
• Associate Professor in the Department of Bioethics, School of Medicine

Her academic credentials include PhD and MA degrees, with professional certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Pain Management Board Certified specialist (PMGT-BC).

Research interests center on ethical dimensions of clinical practice, specifically:

• Bioethics in healthcare decision-making
• Nursing science and practice
• Chronic pain management protocols
• Palliative and end-of-life care systems
