Esme Fuller-Thomson is a full Professor and Director of the Institute for Life Course and Aging at the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. She holds cross-appointments in the Department of Family & Community Medicine and the Faculty of Nursing. With over 180 peer-reviewed publications, her research focuses on social determinants of aging, adverse childhood experiences, ADHD, and immigrant health. She has held prestigious roles including the Sandra Rotman Endowed Chair (2009-2019) and is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.
- Education: Ph.D. and MSW from University of California, Berkeley; BSW and BA from McGill University.
- Research Interests: Gerontology, mental health, disability rates, and the long-term impacts of childhood adversities.

She leads grants on topics including ADHD disparities, refugee well-being, and planetary health in Kenya. Active in teaching, she instructs courses on quantitative analysis and gerontological social work.
Dr. Fuller-Thomson collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and prioritizes knowledge mobilization to address age-related inequities. Her research bridges academic findings with real-world policy and practice.
