Esa Saarinen is a Senior Advisor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University. His research focuses on Systems Intelligence, Applied Philosophy, and Organizational Systems. He holds a Doctoral degree in Humanities from the University of Helsinki (1978) and has been recognized with awards including the Aalto Act of the Year Award (2021) and the Eino Kaila award (1990).
His work spans over 68 publications, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to human factors, team dynamics, and philosophical methodologies. Key research interests include positive psychology, organizational learning, and systems-based design strategies. Recent articles highlight applications of Systems Intelligence in safety management, esports, and empathic design.
