Erwin Dejasse

Erwin Dejasse holds multiple academic positions: he is a researcher, teacher, and curator at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where he leads the Be Comics Lab project in partnership with the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR). Additionally, he serves as a lecturer at the University of Liège and as a professor at ESA Saint-Luc.

His research spans comics studies, outsider art, and punk culture. He has authored significant works including "Morris, Franquin, Peyo et le dessin animé" (2005, co-authored with Philippe Capart), "Art Brut et bande dessinée" (2023), and "La Musique silencieux de Muñoz et Sampayo" (2004), which was awarded the SoBD/9e Art prize. His work explores intersections between sequential art, marginal cultural movements, and non-traditional artistic expressions.

Dejasse co-founded the interdisciplinary comics research group 'ACME' in 2008 and currently directs the Be Comics Lab, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting comic book heritage through academic research, public exhibitions, and digital archiving initiatives at ULB and KBR.
