معرفی
Ertuğrul KUL is an Associate Professor in Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Turkey. He has been serving as a full-time academic staff member since 2013 and currently holds administrative positions including Institute Deputy Director at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. He has extensive experience in academic administration, having served as Department Deputy Head, Mevlana Exchange Program Coordinator, Farabi Coordinator, and Erasmus Coordinator at Ahi Evran University.
Dr. KUL received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture (1998-2003), followed by a Master's Degree in Animal Science (Thesis) from Ondokuz Mayıs University Institute of Science (2003-2006), and completed his PhD in Animal Science from Ondokuz Mayıs University Institute of Science (2007-2013). His educational background has provided him with a strong foundation in animal breeding and improvement, particularly focusing on dairy cattle and buffalo production.
Dr. KUL's primary research interests focus on Animal Breeding and Improvement, with special emphasis on cattle and buffalo breeding systems. His work spans multiple areas including:
- Dairy cattle genetics and breeding
- Buffalo (particularly Anatolian buffalo) production and breeding
- Somatic cell count and mastitis research
- Milk production and composition analysis
- Genetic parameters estimation for production and reproduction traits
- Linear type traits and their relationship with production
- Environmental factors affecting animal production
Analysis of Dr. KUL's recent publications (2021-2025) reveals a consistent research trajectory centered on dairy science and animal breeding. His work demonstrates a strong focus on both theoretical and applied aspects of animal science, with particular attention to Anatolian buffalo - a native Turkish breed. The research spans genetic studies, environmental factor analysis, and practical herd management approaches. A significant portion of his work examines somatic cell count as an indicator of udder health and its relationship with milk production parameters. His more recent publications show an expanding interest in welfare assessment, climate change impacts on dairy production, and advanced statistical modeling approaches for lactation curve analysis.
Dr. KUL has successfully supervised numerous graduate students, including:
- Ayla Sevim Satılmış (PhD and Master's)
- Sinem Akçam (Master's)
- Erdem Mehmet Yıldırım (Master's)
- Ramazan Erkmen (Master's)
- Osman Özlem (Master's)
- Özlem Tepe (Master's)
- Kasım Tuncer (Master's)
He has also led or participated in numerous research projects, including:
- "Anadolu Mandalarında Sütte Somatik Hücre Sayısı ve Süt Bileşenlerinin Belirlenmesi" (2022-2023) as Principal Investigator
- "Buzağılarda Kolostrum ve Kan Serumundaki Toplam İmmunglobulin (IgG) Düzeylerinin Büyüme Özellikleri ve Yaşama Gücü Üzerine Etkileri" (2021-2022) as Principal Investigator
- "Amasya İli Halk Elinde Anadolu Mandasının Islahı Alt Projesi" (2019-2024) as Principal Investigator
- Multiple projects related to dairy cattle production, buffalo breeding, and milk quality assessment
