Ersin Dincelli is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the CU Denver Business School, specializing in cybersecurity, information security behaviors, and cross-cultural aspects of technology adoption. He holds a PhD in Informatics and an MBA from SUNY Albany, alongside a BA in Economics from Uludag University, Turkey.
His research focuses on human factors in cybersecurity, including social engineering, privacy calculus in wearable devices, and cultural influences on security decision-making. Notable contributions include frameworks for mitigating phishing risks and gamified educational tools for cybersecurity training.
Publications span premier journals like Journal of the Association for Information Systems and conferences such as ICIS and AMCIS. His work emphasizes practical interventions to reduce human error in cybersecurity incidents.
Dr. Dincelli has received awards including the AMCIS Best Reviewer Award (2017) and the President's International Student Leadership Award (2013). He is affiliated with IFIP Working Group 8.11/11.13 and Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
