Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkan KONCA is an Associate Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Atılım University. He specializes in materials science with a focus on metallurgy, tribology, and advanced coatings. His research includes investigations into cast iron microstructures, nanocomposite coatings, and mechanical properties of materials under various conditions.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as Metallic Materials (MATE 404), Phase Transformations (MATE 313), and Solidification Processes (MATE 316). His research spans topics like austempering behavior of cast iron, nanotube-reinforced coatings, and thermal processing effects on material properties.
Prof. Konca has authored over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on areas such as tribological behavior of coatings, alloying element effects in cast iron, and fracture mechanics of nanocomposites.
