Erin Thomas Dailey is an Associate Professor of Late Antique & Early Medieval History at the University of Leicester, affiliated with the School of History, Politics, and International Relations. Their research focuses on the Mediterranean world during the late Roman Empire and its early medieval successors (250–950 CE). Currently, they lead an ERC-Consolidator Grant project investigating domestic slavery and sexual exploitation in households across Europe, North Africa, and the Near East (c. AD 250–900). This research is detailed on DoSSEproject.com.
Research interests include interdisciplinary approaches to slavery, gender, and household dynamics in late antique and medieval contexts. Supervision of students and media coverage of their work are noted in their profile, though specific details are not provided here. The DoSSE project represents a major collaborative effort in historical research, blending textual analysis with socio-economic frameworks.
