Erin Schwier

Dr. Erin Schwier is an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Occupational Therapy Programs at the College of Rehabilitative Sciences on the San Marcos campus. With over 15 years of experience in pediatric therapy and educational consulting, she specializes in sensory integration, accessibility, and school-based mental health. She currently works as an occupational therapist and educational consultant at Sierra Academy of San Diego, focusing on academic and social skill development through community integration.

Dr. Schwier holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) and a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California, along with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University. Her research emphasizes occupational therapy education and service learning's impact on student self-efficacy.

She has contributed to professional journals such as OT Practice and Disability Journal of Health, and co-authored Breaking Bread and Nourishing Connections (2005). Her work also includes textbook editing and chapter contributions in occupational therapy.
