Dr. Erin Panda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University, co-directing the Developmental Neuroscience Lab with Dr. Ayda Tekok-Kilic and Suzanne Curtin. Her research focuses on Educational Neuroscience, exploring how brain processes underpin reading, language, and attention in children, particularly those with neurodiverse learning needs. She investigates neural mechanisms of learning through electrophysiological methods like EEG, collaborating with institutions such as Pathstone Mental Health and the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board to bridge research and practical educational interventions.
Her work emphasizes understanding individual differences in cognitive and neural development, aiming to inform evidence-based strategies for enhancing educational outcomes. Notable collaborations include assessing attention control in youth with ADHD/anxiety and evaluating reading interventions in schools. Dr. Panda has received awards for teaching excellence, reflecting her commitment to both research and education.
Her articles explore topics like EEG-based insights into reading skill correlates, ADHD-related inhibitory control, and the efficacy of digital learning mediums. Ongoing research integrates neuroimaging and behavioral data to address challenges in neurodevelopmental disorders, advocating for neurodiversity-inclusive practices.
