معرفی
Dr. Erin Longbrake is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine. She leads clinical research in the Neuroimmunology Division and directs the Multiple Sclerosis & Other Inflammatory Brain Disease Fellowship Program. Her work bridges multiple sclerosis (MS) clinical trials with translational research on neuro-immune interactions and biomarker development.
Education:
- BA in Biology, Cedarville University (1998)
- Combined MD/PhD, Ohio State University (2009)
- Neurology Residency, Washington University (2013)
- Sylvia Lawry Fellowship, National MS Society (2016)
Dr. Longbrake specializes in personalized MS management and pre-clinical disease detection. Her lab investigates microbiome-immune interactions, B-cell depletion effects, and novel neuroimaging biomarkers like the central vein sign. She has published extensively on MS heterogeneity, vaccine responses in immunosuppressed patients, and infection risks with long-term therapies.
Recent research trends (2024-2025) emphasize multicenter validation of automated MRI biomarker systems, microbiome profiling, and immunological consequences of anti-CD20 therapies. Her work spans clinical trial design, translational immunology, and neurological outcomes research.
Scientific Awards:
- Sylvia Lawry Fellow, National MS Society (2013)
- Alpha Omega Alpha Society (2009)
As principal investigator for multiple MS clinical trials (including CD19-targeted CAR T cells and frexalimab), she collaborates with David A. Hafler, Andrew Solomon, and Rong Fan. Her lab recruits patients from the Northeast US for human biospecimen studies integrating low-field MRI, metabolomics, and deep immunophenotyping.
She serves on editorial boards for Annals of Neurology and Neurology: Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation, and as board member for ACTRIMS.
