Erin Long, DVM, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also serves as the Coordinator of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Her clinical and research efforts are centered on advancing emergency and critical care medicine for dogs and cats, with particular emphasis on transfusion medicine, hemostasis, and shock pathophysiology.

Clinical & Academic Service
As Coordinator of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Service, Dr. Long oversees case management, resident training, and protocol development in one of the busiest veterinary teaching hospitals in the United States. She integrates bedside clinical research with didactic instruction to advance the standard of care in veterinary emergency medicine.
