Erin Gee is a Professor of Music at Brandeis University, specializing in experimental vocal composition. Her internationally acclaimed Mouthpieces series explores non-semantic vocal techniques using the International Phonetic Alphabet. She holds academic affiliations including past roles as Assistant Professor at University of Illinois (UIUC) and Lecturer at MIT. Gee's work has been performed globally by ensembles like Klangforum Wien and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, with commissions from institutions such as the Zurich Opera House.
Education includes a Ph.D. from Kunstuniversität Graz and degrees from the University of Iowa. Her research bridges vocal performance, phonetics, and contemporary composition.
