Erin Bradfield is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. She earned her B.A. from Colgate University and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2012.

Research Interests: Dr. Bradfield specializes in Aesthetics, Philosophy of Film, and Ethics. Her research explores the social and political dimensions of Kantian aesthetics, focusing on communication, exclusion, and the formation of aesthetic communities. She has also contributed to discussions on negative aesthetics, including topics such as ugliness, disgust, and the sublime.
Publications: Her work has appeared in prominent journals and encyclopedias, including The Oxford Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, The Journal of Aesthetic Education, and The Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism.
Awards and Activities: Dr. Bradfield has coached Santa Clara University's Ethics Bowl team to significant achievements, including a national title in 2018—the first by a California school—and top finishes in subsequent years. These include a California Regional win in 2019, a top eight finish in 2020 Nationals, and a top four finish in 2023 Nationals.
Labs/Teams: She mentors the Ethics Bowl team, contributing to their success in national competitions.
