Erika Abramson

Erika Abramson, M.D., MSc, is a dual-appointed Professor of Pediatrics and Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine. She serves as Gertrude Feil Associate Dean of Curricular Affairs, Vice Chair of Health Services and Medical Education Research, and Section Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. An attending pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, she leads the Population Health Sciences Fellowship and is board-certified in General Pediatrics.

Dr. Abramson’s research spans three domains: (1) Medical Education, focusing on scholarly activity training, mentorship, and structural competency frameworks; (2) Health Informatics, examining EHR usability, e-prescribing safety, and health information exchange; and (3) Health Services Research, addressing care coordination, health equity, and ED utilization. Her work often intersects with technology’s role in healthcare delivery.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in culturally responsive education, quality improvement in academic settings, and pandemic-related healthcare trends. A recurring theme is optimizing technology to reduce disparities and enhance patient safety.
