Prof. Erik Wagenaars is Professor of Plasma Physics at the University of York's School of Physics, Engineering and Technology and member of the York Plasma Institute. His research focuses on low-temperature plasmas and their technological applications.
Research highlights:
- Atmospheric-pressure plasma jets
- Plasma-based thin film deposition
- Laser ablation dynamics
- Plasma diagnostic development
His group studies plasma chemistry control through pulsed power technology and develops applications in plasma medicine and materials processing. Current projects include 'TiPToP - Tailored Pulse excitation for TailOred Plasma chemistries' funded by EPSRC.
