Erik Vermeulen is a Full Professor at Tilburg University, affiliated with the Tilburg Law School and the Department of Private, Business and Labour Law. He is also a Senior Counsel Corporate/Vice President at Philips International B.V., where he advises on corporate governance and global legal structures. His teaching spans business organizations, law and technology, and business innovation at TIAS School for Business and Society and other universities globally.
- Research Interests: Comparative Company Law, Corporate Governance, Venture Capital, Innovation, AI and Law, Digitalization, and Entrepreneurial Finance.
Recent publications include analyses of AI ethics, corporate compliance in global value chains, and reflections on digital consumer behavior. Supervised PhD students include Priyanka Priyadarshini (India), Natalya Spuling (Ukraine), and others. Active in projects like the International Venture Club and corporate governance research for the European Commission and OECD.
