Erik Matson is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center and Deputy Director of the Adam Smith Program at George Mason University. He concurrently serves as an Online Course Lecturer at The King’s College, New York. He holds a BS and PhD in Economics from George Mason University.

His research focuses on economic philosophy, the intellectual history of the Scottish Enlightenment, and the role of theology in economic thought. Key projects include a critique of behavioral paternalism (under publication with the Institute for Economic Affairs) and a multi-volume study on Christian economic thought (co-authored with Jordan Ballor, under contract with B&H Academic).
