Erik Lawrence serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music in the Department of Music Education at Davidson College, contributing to academic and performance programs through teaching and collaborative artistry.
His educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Collaborative Piano from the University of California, Santa Barbara; a Master of Music (M.M.) from the University of Missouri–Kansas City; an Artist's Diploma from The Royal Conservatory's Glenn Gould School; and a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) from Rice University.
Lawrence specializes in collaborative keyboard performance across diverse genres including orchestral, chamber music, art song, opera, and choral settings. His professional experience encompasses performances at the Canadian Opera Company’s Virtuoso Pianist Afternoon Concert Series, International Holland Music Sessions in Bergen, Netherlands, and Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto with the Lake Charles Symphony. He currently maintains an active career as a piano teacher, composer, and recital lecturer in the Charlotte area.
