معرفی
Dr. Erik Krogh is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Vancouver Island University, with an additional Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the Department of Chemistry, University of Victoria. His expertise spans environmental organic chemistry, photochemistry, and water quality analysis, integrating real-time analytical techniques like membrane introduction mass spectrometry (MIMS) for trace contaminant detection.
- Vancouver Island University: Adjunct Professor, Co-Director of Applied Environmental Research Laboratories (AERL).
- University of Victoria: Adjunct Associate Professor.
His research focuses on the distribution and fate of organic molecules in natural waters and the atmosphere, applying advanced analytical methods to study thermodynamics and kinetics in environmental systems. He teaches CHEM 311 (Environmental Chemical Analysis), CHEM 301 (Aqueous Environmental Chemistry), CHEM 302 (Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry), and CHEM 331 (Environmental Organic Chemistry), emphasizing experimental approaches and instrumental analysis. The AERL group provides opportunities for students to engage in hands-on research via CHEM 490 (Directed Research) or research assistantships.
He actively promotes climate change awareness and develops rapid screening methods for environmental monitoring. His work bridges environmental chemistry with human health determinants, utilizing on-site sampling and geospatial mapping.
