Erik Braun is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Econometrics, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pécs. He holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Economics and a master's in Economic Analysis from the same institution, and earned his PhD in 2021 with a thesis focused on sector-level analysis of the Hungarian economy using network analysis tools.
His research interests include global and local value chains, innovation and research collaboration relationships, and economic network analysis. He teaches macroeconomics, probability, and statistics courses.
Recent publications analyze structural resilience of economies, trade disruptions during geopolitical conflicts, and domestic production networks using advanced network science methodologies. Trends in his work emphasize network theory applications to macroeconomic stability and crisis response.
He is affiliated with the EconNet Research Group and contributes to academic development through teaching and collaborative research projects.
