Erich Batra is a Professor in both the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at Penn State University College of Medicine. With dual board certification in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, he maintains a diverse clinical practice seeing patients from newborns to geriatrics at the Penn State Health Palmyra office and a local nursing home in Lebanon, PA.

His publications show a consistent focus on child mortality prevention, with recent work examining sudden unexpected infant death patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic, unexplained infant deaths without unsafe sleep factors, and adolescent suicide risk screening. His research utilizes multi-disciplinary approaches to identify preventable causes of child death.
