Erica L. Groshen

Erica L. Groshen is a Senior Labor Market Advisor at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) and a Research Fellow at the Upjohn Institute for Employment Research. She previously served as the 14th Commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) from 2013 to 2017. Her research focuses on labor market dynamics, wage structures, inflation measurement, and the impact of technological advancements like autonomous vehicles on employment. Groshen holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
