Eric Swartz, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He joined the faculty in 2011 after earning his Ph.D. in Communication Disorders from Bowling Green State University (2011), M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado (2000), and B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (1996).
His research focuses on stuttering therapy outcomes, coping strategies, and the application of cinematherapy to improve quality of life for people who stutter. He supervises graduate clinicians and provides stuttering therapy via telepractice through the TAMUK CSDO Clinic. Dr. Swartz also founded the Kingsville Stuttering Support Group (2016) and contributes to the Comprehensive Stuttering Therapy Program at Texas State University-Round Rock.
His clinical practice emphasizes holistic treatment for children and adults who stutter, prioritizing clients' emotional well-being alongside speech behaviors. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses on fluency disorders.
